Biography
John Au-Yeung is Of Counsel to The Perry Law Firm as well as Staff Counsel IV to the largest insurance company in the state of California. He is one of the top litigators for SCIF in the Southern California region. Previously, he was in-house counsel for The Walt Disney Company. Mr. Au-Yeung is experienced in complex civil and appellate litigation in state courts, and federal bankruptcy court; practiced contracts and business litigation; insurance defense, environmental toxic torts defense, employment law defense, products liability defense and bankruptcy law. His transactional experience included general corporate practice in entertainment, intellectual property, advertisement, environmental compliance, and employment and construction law. Mr. Au-Yeung is a retired Major in the United States Air Force after 23 years of service. His last assignment was served as a legal advisor to the Acquisition Office for the Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base. He has also worked in the aerospace civilian sector for Loral Electro Optical Systems as the youngest program manager for the company developing hardware and software for war/combat simulation involving land and air maneuvers.
Mr. Au-Yeung is a member of the California Bar Association. He was involved with the Special Olympics and the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethon for a number of years. He was also counsel and member of the Board of Directors for the Chinatown Public Safety Association; a nonprofit organization created to improve the quality of life and reduce crime in Los Angeles Chinatown and the surrounding areas. He received two Air Force Achievement Awards and one Meritorious Service Medal while in the Service.
