Biography
Chris J. Hoo is the Managing Attorney of the Firm’s Assessments Collections Department. He practices primarily in matters involving the FDCPA and related regulations. Additionally, Mr. Hoo has experience in general corporate matters involving negligence, breach of contract, and unfair business practices.
Mr. Hoo earned his bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of California, Irvine, where he served as a dorm resident advisor, campus tour guide, and intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C. While working towards his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School, Mr. Hoo served as OutLaw president and clerked at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office at LAX.
As an attorney, Mr. Hoo worked at the largest consumer bankruptcy law firm in Southern California, as well as a multi-state foreclosure law firm representing lenders. He later founded two law firms, representing probate and cannabis business law clients. He has appeared in a variety of courts on hundreds of different matters, including family, immigration, criminal and employment law. One of Mr. Hoo’s passions include learning new languages, and he speaks with varying levels of fluency Spanish, Chinese and Korean.
